Detailing
This section is about further improvements that have been done after "Phase 2". This section will include the design of the final prototype, the specific buttons, and the leather strap that will be used at the end.

After reconsidering the design we have adjusted it to her style as it is demonstrated above. As it was explained in "Phase 2", the straps have the snake skin design and the main body is rectangular, like in a Cartier watch, as shown below. Due to how big the electronic parts are, it is not possible to make the watch as small as a Cartier watch, however, we tried to model the watch as compact as possible for final solid works model, without causing any problem with the lithium battery. This is because lithium battery can cause burns and even lithium poisoning. Hence, it is important to keep the inside of the electronics free from anything sharp or too compact. Furthermore, in the initial idea a knop was being used however the insert for the knob was too small for use to manufacture, hence we changed plans to just using the buttons what is already implemented in the screen. Also, the three similar, colored variatians, shown above, were emailed to Anne, to let her choose the details, and her response was to go with the design shown in the middle (rounded-off). One peculiar aspect of the design, that can be noticed from these drawings is the orientation of the watch's casing, which goes perpendicular to the strap. This was a feature that had to be incorporated, to make the watch's prototype more wearable, considering it's size. Overall, the goal was to maintain as much of the liked the design as possible - by making elongated sections and adding a strap that's similar to the one from the picture. The chosen iteration of the design, with rounded elements, going past the screen, aim to preserve as much of the "orginal" design as possible, with adding a direction parrallel to the strap, which as said before, was not possible to do with the entire volume (which would become too big).

Above there is an interaction illustration of the watch, how it works, what the buttons do and so on. First, with left button you set the level of tiredness which sets the time. If the client is very tried they hold the button shorter and in other way around they would hold the button longer. As time progresses the dog illustration, as shown in the illustration, gets tired and crawls on the ground, along with a bar below it indicating the same. When that happens, the watch vibrates and alerts the user to take rest and then they can reset the timer by pressing the right button. This should give the client a much more systematic rest time periods and feel less drained at the end of the day. Below it is possible to see the 5 stages of the dog from normal to sleepy - indicating that it has no energy, therefore inviting the user to take a break.

Making of the Prototype

It was decided that the model would be 3D printed, because of the fact that it would allow for the best accuracy in the design. As all of the components had to fit inside of the watch's base, 3D printing made it possible to accurately design a casing for them. As can be seen on the picture, the model of the watch evlolved, according to the design preference's of the user, explained above and in one of the previous sections.

Here, it can be also seen that in the final iteration of the design, the buttons are also 3D printed with thin plastic, so they are seamlessly enscased, instead of having "sticking out" buttons from the electronics set that was received.

An issue that had to be faced, constraining the design of the model, were the components that had to be included in it, limiting the shape possiblities. As can be seen on the cross-section picture, the Group tried to encorporate them as efficiently as possible, to allow for the least bulky design.

Another issue that had to be dealt with during prototyping was the screen's brightness. As can be seen on the two pictures, intially the screen was very bright - as it was coded to display only black and white. After tweaking the settings, it was achieved that the screen became off-white - a color much less obtrusive, and also more similar to the watch that it was based on.
